What’s new for 2026
The new maze is DIABLO: The Infernal Path, based on Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo video game series. The park lists it as opening September 25, a week after the event begins. The official Haunt page also marks four live shows as new for 2026: Wake the Dead, a murder mystery musical, Heads Will Roll, a Royal Court performance, Sink the Jerk, an interactive dunk tank show, and Skeleton Crew, a stunt show. An opening show called Overlord’s Resurrection is also listed. On the daytime side, The Witch Sisters character meet-and-greet is new for 2026. Check the day’s schedule for showtimes.
Haunted houses and scare zones
The six mazes are DIABLO: The Infernal Path, CornStalkers: Blood Harvest, F.E.A.R. presented by SKITTLES, GrimmWoods presented by M&M’S, Blood on the Bayou, and Trick or Treat presented by SNICKERS.
The five scare zones are Cleaver Brothers Carnival, Masquerade, Pumpkin Eater, Site X and The Catacombs. Scare zones are outdoors and run through the walkways, so you will meet actors even when you are not in a maze line.
Daytime and family activities
Tricks and Treats is the family-focused option, running on select dates from September 19 through November 1. The official page lists a Trick-or-Treat Trail, The Witch Sisters meet-and-greet, a costume contest at Peanuts Playhouse with prizes, a BeanBoozled jelly bean tasting challenge, the Skelebration Dance Party, Patch’s Pumpkin Patch for pumpkin decorating, and Mask Makers Mash for mask-making crafts. The event is held during daytime hours, before sunset, with an all fun, no fear approach.
Kings Dominion has not published a single start time for the scare content on the pages reviewed, so confirm the evening schedule on the day’s park hours before you plan your arrival.
Tickets, passes and Fast Lane
Every guest needs park admission. The official Haunt page lists a Haunted Attractions Pass starting from $10 for maze access on the night you choose, and a Halloween Haunt Package that bundles park admission with the mazes starting from $55. Prices vary by date, so check the ticket page for your night. Processing fees and taxes are added at checkout.
For shorter maze waits, both the nightly pass and the package list an optional Express upgrade. The park’s add-ons page shows the same upgrade on the 2026 All Season Haunted Attractions Pass, which starts from $49 and covers the mazes on multiple nights. The pages reviewed do not list a price for the Express upgrade, so check it at checkout for your date. This is Express, not a separately named Fast Lane product, so look for that wording when you buy. The page also lists the 2027 Gold Pass at $99 per person, with renewals at $89.
Guests age 17 and younger need a chaperone who is 21 or older, with a maximum of ten minors per adult, and a valid photo ID is required. The park page says this is enforced daily beginning at 11 am. The Tricks and Treats page does not list separate pricing, so check the daily ticket page for that event. Buying online ahead of time is the simplest way to lock in a night.
Tips for your visit
Check the park calendar before choosing a night, because Haunt runs only on select nights and Tricks and Treats uses different dates. The park has not published attendance guidance, so if you want shorter lines, a weeknight Haunt date is a reasonable bet. If you have only one night, the Express upgrade is the option to weigh.
Arrive early enough to ride before dark, then head to the mazes while lines are shorter. Dress in layers, since Virginia evenings can turn cool in October, and wear comfortable shoes for a lot of walking. Height requirements still apply to rides, so check them before you queue. Keep young children to the daytime event and treat the under 13 guidance as a firm rule for the mazes. Parking fees are not listed on the pages reviewed, so check the park site before you go. Gold Pass holders get free general parking.
