Wild Mouse is a steel spinning roller coaster at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. It opened on May 6, 2023, as the anchor of the park’s new Boardwalk area, and it was billed as the park’s 18th roller coaster. Zamperla built it, and it was the first ride of the company’s Twister Freeform model.
The ride is a family-thrill coaster, not a record-chaser. It stands 52 feet tall, reaches about 35 mph, and runs along roughly 1,312 feet of orange track. Cedar Point also had an earlier, unrelated Wild Mouse in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Today’s version carries the name forward with a modern, spinning design.

The Ride Experience
After a chain lift hill, the cars weave through hills, twists, dives and tight hairpin turns, including a horseshoe turn. Each car spins freely as it goes, so the ride changes with how the riders are seated and how their weight is distributed. Cedar Point says no two rides are the same.
The theme is a playful cat-and-mouse chase for cheese. Six of the seven cars are mouse-themed and one is cheese-themed. The park rates the ride 4 out of 5 on its thrill scale. That puts it above a kiddie coaster and below the park’s big-name giants.
A Nod to the Past
The name is a deliberate throwback. Cedar Point built an earlier Wild Mouse in 1959, and that ride closed in 1963. Zamperla describes the Twister Freeform as an updated version of its classic Twister Coaster. Cedar Point asked for an experience that gave a nod to the past but offered a modern ride.
Wild Mouse sits in the Boardwalk, which replaced the old Lakeside Midway. It is a good first coaster for families with kids who are ready to move up from the smaller rides.
