Kondaa is a steel roller coaster at Walibi Belgium in Wavre, built by Swiss manufacturer Intamin using their Mega Coaster model. It opened to the public on May 8, 2021, becoming the park’s ninth coaster and an instant record-holder in the region.

Set within the park’s Exotic World section, Kondaa was designed around relentless airtime rather than inversions. At launch it was billed as the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the Benelux, edging out Goliath at Walibi Holland for height and Fury at Bobbejaanland for top speed.

The Ride Experience

Kondaa relies on a 45-degree chain lift hill to its 164-foot summit before sending riders through a course engineered around negative-g airtime rather than loops. RCDB and Coasterpedia document around 15 distinct airtime moments across the layout, giving the ride an unusually sustained sense of weightlessness for a coaster with zero inversions.

The signature element is a non-inverting cobra roll, reported at the time of opening as a world-first for the coaster industry. Riders also pass through a wall stall and a side-banked double-down, elements that twist the train through near-vertical banking without ever turning it upside down.

Records and Regional Impact

When it debuted in 2021, Kondaa was promoted as the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the Benelux region, a title it earned by surpassing Goliath at Walibi Holland in height and Fury at Bobbejaanland in top speed. The ride represented a roughly €25 million investment for Walibi Belgium and was built to anchor the park’s Exotic World themed area.
