Born of a $250 Million Island Makeover
Royal Caribbean has leased Little Stirrup Cay since 1988, but in 2019 it spent roughly $250 million transforming the island into Perfect Day at CocoCay — adding a dedicated cruise pier, a helium balloon ride, and Thrill Waterpark with two slide towers and a huge wave pool. Daredevil’s Tower, built by WhiteWater, is the taller of the two, with multiple slides wound into its 135-foot frame: a freefall speed slide, looping AquaTubes, a Boomerango wall slide and a Constrictor spiral among them.
North America’s Tallest — For Five Years
From 2019 to 2024, nothing in North America out-dropped Daredevil’s Peak — not Volcano Bay’s 125-foot Ko’okiri Body Plunge, not Disney’s 120-foot Summit Plummet. The Fall at Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin Dells finally took the continental crown in 2024 at 145 feet. Daredevil’s Peak still ranks in the top dozen of the tallest water slides in the world, and it remains the tallest slide at any cruise destination anywhere.
