Legendia is an amusement park in Chorzów, Poland, set within the sprawling grounds of Silesian Park. Construction began in 1956 and the park opened to the public in 1959 under the name Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko (Silesian Amusement Park), making it the oldest operating amusement park in the country. It kept that name for decades before undergoing a major transformation in the 2010s.
In 2015, Slovakian operator Tatry Mountain Resorts acquired the park and invested heavily in rebuilding it around a new theme. Relaunched as Legendia in 2017 with a “legends” storytelling concept, the park spans about 26 hectares and offers around 40 attractions, anchored by the Lech Coaster, which debuted as the tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in Poland at the time, a record later surpassed by Hyperion at Energylandia.

The Ride Experience
Legendia’s headline attraction is the Lech Coaster, a Vekoma steel coaster that opened on July 1, 2017. It reaches a height of about 40 meters, hits speeds around 95 km/h, and covers roughly 908 meters of track with three inversions, including a reverse sidewinder and two corkscrews. The park also runs Diabelska Pętla, an older looping coaster, alongside the Diamond River water ride and a mix of family-friendly attractions built around its legends-and-folklore theme.
A Park Rebuilt Around Its History
Few parks in Europe carry as long a continuous history as Legendia. What began construction in 1956 as a modest municipal amusement ground grew over decades, before Tatry Mountain Resorts’ 2015 acquisition triggered its biggest overhaul yet. The rebrand to Legendia in 2017 preserved the park’s identity as Poland’s oldest amusement venue while modernizing it with new record-setting rides.
