Canada's Wonderland opened in May 1981 with five roller coasters, three of them wooden. It now runs 18, including Leviathan, the tallest and fastest coaster in Canada. This timeline starts with today's lineup and runs back to opening day, including the three coasters that have left: Blauer Enzian, SkyRider and Time Warp.
Cedar Fair to Six Flags 2006 – today
Cedar Fair bought the park in 2006 and built Canada’s tallest coasters. Six Flags took over in the 2024 merger.
AlpenFury
A launched coaster that shoots out of Wonder Mountain, with nine inversions. The International Festival area was rethemed as Alpenfest to match.

Paramount took full ownership in 1993 and named rides after its films, from Top Gun to Tomb Raider and The Italian Job.
Backlot Stunt Coaster
A family launched coaster that opened as The Italian Job: Stunt Track, based on the 2003 film's chase scene.
Time Warp
A flying coaster that opened as Tomb Raider: The Ride. It gave its last ride on November 2, 2024 and was removed before the 2025 season.
Silver Streak
A family inverted coaster, one of the first of its kind from Vekoma.

A wild mouse with single cars.
Taxi Jam
A kiddie coaster that opened with KidZville, themed after Toronto-area freeways.
DareDeviler
A suspended looping coaster that opened as Top Gun, became Flight Deck in 2008, and got its new name and trains in 2026.

The park's first powered coaster. It shut down in 1985 and was relocated to Tykkimäki in Finland, and Mack built Thunder Run in its place.
Mighty Canadian Minebuster
A wooden coaster modeled on The Shooting Star at Cincinnati's Coney Island, and the only coaster designed in-house for the park.
Wilde Beast
A wooden coaster modeled on the Wildcat at Cincinnati's Coney Island. It ran as Wild Beast from 1997 to 2018.
Ghoster Coaster
A junior wooden coaster, called Scooby's Gasping Ghoster Coaster until the 2010 season.
Dragon Fyre
A looping coaster whose pair of counter-clockwise corkscrews is unique among Arrow coasters. It was spelled Dragon Fire from 1997 to 2018.

What is the tallest roller coaster at Canada's Wonderland?
Leviathan, which opened in 2012. At 306 feet tall with a top speed of 92 mph, it is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Canada, and it was the first coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard to pass 300 feet.
What happened to SkyRider?
SkyRider, a TOGO stand-up coaster, closed on September 1, 2014. It was sold and moved to Cavallino Matto in Tuscany, Italy, where it reopened in 2015 as Freestyle. Yukon Striker opened on its old site in 2019.
What happened to Time Warp?
Time Warp, a Zamperla flying coaster that opened in 2004 as Tomb Raider: The Ride, gave its last ride on November 2, 2024 and was removed before the 2025 season.
Is Thunder Run the same ride as Blauer Enzian?
No. Blauer Enzian was a Mack powered coaster that opened with the park in 1981, shut down in 1985 and was relocated to Tykkimäki in Finland. Mack then built Thunder Run, which opened inside Wonder Mountain in 1986.
