AlpenFury is a launched steel roller coaster at Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario, built by Premier Rides and opened to the public on July 12, 2025. Themed to the park’s Alpenfest area and Wonder Mountain, the ride uses a linear synchronous motor launch system to fire trains through the mountain’s depths before blasting them out over its summit.
Upon opening, AlpenFury was marketed as the tallest, fastest, and longest launch coaster in Canada, and its nine inversions set a new world record for the most inversions on any launched coaster. It became the park’s 18th roller coaster and was later ranked the second-best new coaster of 2025 in Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Awards.

The Ride Experience
AlpenFury’s signature feature is its double launch: riders are first shot into a tunnel carved through Wonder Mountain, then launched a second time out of the mountain’s summit into a sequence of inversions. The full circuit includes pyrotechnic effects staged around the mountain, tying the ride’s fire-and-ice theming to its Alpenfest surroundings.
With nine inversions packed into roughly 3,281 feet of track, AlpenFury delivers a dense, disorienting layout more typical of a much longer coaster, while its 71 mph top speed keeps the pacing aggressive from the first launch to the final brake run.
Records and Reception
At its debut, AlpenFury was promoted as the tallest, fastest, and longest launch coaster in Canada, and its nine inversions set a world record for the most inversions on any launched coaster. That total also ties the broader North American record for most inversions on any coaster regardless of launch type, a mark also held by Kennywood’s Steel Curtain, a traditional chain-lift coaster. The ride was built as part of a broader investment push following Six Flags’ 2024 merger with Cedar Fair, and it went on to place highly in Amusement Today’s 2025 Golden Ticket Awards for best new roller coaster.
