GEODIS Park opened on May 1, 2022, as the new home of Major League Soccer’s Nashville SC, rising on the grounds of the historic Nashville Fairgrounds just south of downtown. Designed by the sports architecture firm Populous, the venue was built specifically for soccer, giving fans sightlines and an atmosphere tailored to the sport rather than a stadium retrofitted from football or baseball use.

With seating for 30,109, GEODIS Park holds the title of the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States or Canada. The project carried a final construction cost in the range of $325-345 million and took its current name in March 2022 when logistics company Geodis signed on as naming rights sponsor shortly before the stadium’s debut.

A Stadium Built for Soccer

Unlike many MLS clubs that share football or baseball facilities, Nashville SC worked with Populous to create a venue purpose-built around the pitch, with steep seating bowls designed to keep fans close to the action and amplify crowd noise. The stadium sits on the site of the long-running Nashville Fairgrounds, part of a broader redevelopment that also included a relocated expo building and upgrades to the adjacent Fairgrounds Speedway.

The stadium opened its doors with Nashville SC hosting the Philadelphia Union, and it quickly became known for drawing some of the league’s largest crowds. Its scale and modern amenities have since made it a target host site for major events beyond MLS play.

Beyond MLS Matches

GEODIS Park has hosted matches during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, reflecting its status as one of the premier soccer venues in North America, and it has been designated as a venue for soccer competition at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The stadium also expanded into live entertainment, hosting its first concert in June 2023 when Shania Twain performed there.

That dual identity as both a top-tier soccer venue and a concert destination has helped GEODIS Park become a fixture of Nashville’s growing sports and entertainment landscape just a few years after breaking ground.
