With the arrival of the NHL’s Utah Mammoth in 2024, the arena underwent renovations to accommodate hockey, and a fuller renovation began in April 2025.

The 2024 arrival of the NHL’s Utah Mammoth (originally known as the Utah Hockey Club) marked a new chapter for the building, prompting renovations to add ice hockey capability alongside its existing basketball configuration. A more extensive renovation project began in April 2025 under owner Ryan Smith, aiming to modernize the arena for its dual role as home to both franchises.
Delta Center’s Olympic legacy also continues to grow: after hosting figure skating and short-track speed skating in 2002, the arena is expected to again host ice events when the Winter Olympics return to Salt Lake City in 2034.
