What’s new for 2026
Two mazes are new. Final Destination: Death’s Playground is based on the film series, where death itself is the antagonist. Wolves’ Blood is an original werewolf story set in a remote town, and Haunted Attraction Network credits it to Gus Krueger, the designer behind Knott’s Scary Farm. Trick ‘r Treat also gets a new home this year, moving into the building that previously held Saw, according to the same source.
On the entertainment side, Nytewalkerz is a new show featuring zombie extreme sports performers. The park lists four shows in total: Unleashed, Nytewalkerz, Sliders of the Night and Margo Rita’s Monster Ball.
Haunted houses and scare zones
The seven mazes are Final Destination: Death’s Playground, Wolves’ Blood, The Conjuring Universe, Trick ‘r Treat, Carnage presented by M&M’S, Vault: 666 Unlocked and Willoughby’s: Resurrected. The Conjuring Universe centers on the Warrens’ cursed artifact museum. Carnage follows an evil clown villain, and Vault: 666 Unlocked is set in an abandoned antique shop full of demonic relics. Willoughby’s: Resurrected is a cursed mansion.
The seven scare zones are City Under Siege, Devil’s Triangle, Exile Hill, Nightmares: Reign of Blood, Plaza de la Muerte, Thunderbolt Alley and Underworlds of Oz. These are open to anyone in the park and are included with admission, so you can get a good dose of Fright Fest without buying a maze pass.
Daytime and family activities
Fright Fest itself is an evening event, with scare content starting at 6:30 p.m. For a daytime Halloween option, the park runs Tricks and Treats on select days between September 18 and November 1, with kids in costumes. Haunted Attraction Network reports a new Looney Tunes show for that event this year. Check the park calendar to see which days are Tricks and Treats and which are Fright Fest.
Costume rules differ between the two. Haunted Attraction Network notes that masks and costumes are limited to children 10 and under in designated daytime areas, and that full-face masks are not allowed for adults. Check the park’s costume policy before you go.
Tickets, passes and Fast Lane
Regular Magic Mountain admission covers the scare zones and shows. The official page lists a Fright Fest Bundle from $74, which combines park admission with maze access. A Single-Night Haunted Attractions Pass starts at $25, and an All-Season Haunted Attractions Pass starts at $69. Express upgrades are also available.
Haunted Attraction Network lists an Express Pass covering all seven mazes at $129, single-use express entry at $65 per maze, and general parking at $42. It also says Fast Lane does not cover the mazes, and that maze passes are now digital and used through the app. Prices can change, so confirm them on the official page before you buy.
Season pass holders get the scare zones, shows and night rides without extra cost, and only the mazes need an add-on. Parking is free with season passes, per the same source. Buy tickets and passes on the Six Flags Magic Mountain website.
Tips for your visit
Fridays and Saturdays are typically the busiest nights, so if your schedule allows, a Thursday in October or a Sunday is a calmer option. Arrive close to 6:30 p.m. and head to the mazes first, since maze lines usually build as the night goes on. Wait times vary by night.
Re-entry is not allowed after 9 p.m., so plan meals and any car trips before then. Haunted Attraction Network reports that guests 15 and under need a chaperone aged 21 or older from 4 p.m. onward, and the park says every guest needs their own paid ticket regardless of age. Valencia evenings can turn cool in October, so bring a layer, and wear comfortable shoes for the walking between mazes and zones. Parking is at the main lot on Magic Mountain Parkway.
