Flug der Dämonen, German for “Flight of the Demons,” is a Bolliger & Mabillard wing coaster at Heide Park Resort in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. It opened on March 29, 2014, as Germany’s first wing coaster, replacing the former Wildwasserbahn II water ride that had been removed during the 2012 season.
Built at a cost of roughly €15 million, the coaster anchors the park’s Transylvania-themed area with trains fronted by demon-head sculptures designed by German graffiti artist Markus Genesius. Riders sit in pairs on either side of the track with nothing above or below them, a hallmark of the wing coaster design pioneered by B&M.

The Ride Experience
As a wing coaster, Flug der Dämonen seats riders four across in cars that extend to either side of the track, giving an unobstructed, exposed sensation throughout the layout. The ride opens with a steep drop before moving through a camelback hill, an Immelmann loop, a corkscrew, and a 270-degree helix.
The signature moment is the “demonic knot,” a custom B&M element that combines an inclined dive loop with an inclined Immelmann. The full circuit lasts about 52 seconds to a few minutes depending on measurement, reaching a top speed of 62 mph across 2,533 feet of track.
Theming and Legacy
The coaster sits within Heide Park’s Transylvanien section, where its story follows villagers who accidentally unleash demons during a ritual. Train fronts are sculpted into demon heads, reinforcing the area’s horror-fantasy atmosphere.
As Germany’s first wing coaster, Flug der Dämonen introduced a ride format previously seen at parks like Six Flags Great America and Alton Towers, helping cement Heide Park’s reputation for headline B&M attractions alongside rides like Krake.
