The FPL Solar Amphitheater at Bayfront Park, commonly known as Bayfront Park Amphitheater, is an outdoor concert venue on the shore of Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami, Florida. It sits inside the 32-acre Bayfront Park, which was designed by Warren Henry Manning and officially opened in March 1925 before undergoing a major 1980s redesign by landscape architect Isamu Noguchi.
An amphitheater has anchored the park’s live entertainment since a Greek-style venue was built there in the 1940s, and the current Live Nation-operated amphitheater reopened after renovations in 2009 and again in 2020 with an eco-friendly upgrade that added solar panels. Over the decades the stage has drawn acts ranging from Nirvana and Megadeth to Lenny Kravitz and Phish, and the park has long been closely tied to the Ultra Music Festival, which returned there in 2022 after a stint at Virginia Key and is approved to stay through 2027.

A Waterfront Stage With Deep Roots
Bayfront Park has hosted live performances since bandshells first drew crowds there in the late 1920s, and architect Walter DeGarmo designed a formal Greek-style amphitheater for the park in 1945. The venue evolved through the park’s 1980s redevelopment under Isamu Noguchi, and today’s amphitheater carries on that tradition as one of downtown Miami’s primary outdoor concert spaces, with the city skyline and Biscayne Bay forming its backdrop.
From Ultra Music Festival to Live Nation Shows
Ultra Music Festival called Bayfront Park home for years before relocating to Virginia Key in 2019 amid permitting and noise disputes with the city. In May 2022, the Miami City Commission approved a new five-year agreement bringing Ultra back to Bayfront Park, where it has run each spring since and is now confirmed to continue through 2027. The venue, now branded the FPL Solar Amphitheater, also hosts touring concerts booked through Live Nation, equipped with a Klipsch sound system and solar-powered infrastructure added during its 2020 renovation.
