Delano Las Vegas was an all-suite, non-gaming hotel tower on the Mandalay Bay resort campus at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. Opened in 2003 as THEhotel at Mandalay Bay and reimagined as Delano after an $80 million renovation in September 2014, the 43-story tower held 1,117 suites and traded a traditional casino floor for a quieter, boutique-style stay under the larger Mandalay Bay umbrella.

The property no longer operates under the Delano name: as part of a 2023 licensing deal between MGM Resorts and Marriott, the tower was rebranded to W Las Vegas, with the changeover completed on December 18, 2024. Travelers researching “Delano Las Vegas” today are effectively looking at W Las Vegas, occupying the same rooms, pool and spa in the same building.

Rooms, Pool and Casino

Every room at Delano was a suite, starting around 725 square feet — among the largest standard accommodations on the Strip at the time — spread across a 43-story tower connected to Mandalay Bay by an indoor walkway. The hotel had no gaming floor of its own; guests walked over to Mandalay Bay’s casino for table games and slots.

Delano kept its own pool scene separate from Mandalay Bay’s beach and wave pool: the Delano Beach Club, added in 2015, offered a quieter adults-leaning deck with 16 cabanas and poolside food and drink service, distinct from the family-oriented Mandalay Bay Beach next door.

Shows, Attractions and Dining

Dining centered on Rivea, a Mediterranean restaurant from chef Alain Ducasse with Strip views from an upper floor, and Delia’s Kitchen, a 140-seat all-day restaurant. The 15,000-square-foot Bathhouse Spa handled wellness. Because Delano sat on the Mandalay Bay campus, guests also had walking access to Mandalay Bay’s House of Blues, the Shark Reef Aquarium and the arena now known as Michelob Ultra Arena.

Location and Who Should Stay Here

Delano occupied the far south end of the Strip, near Allegiant Stadium and a short drive from T-Mobile Arena and the rest of the resort corridor — convenient for stadium events but a longer walk or rideshare from The Colosseum, the Sphere, and mid-Strip nightlife. That trade-off suited couples and business travelers seeking a calmer, suite-based stay over a slot-machine lobby.

Today that same tower and room stock operate as W Las Vegas under Marriott Bonvoy, so anyone drawn to Delano’s floor plan, pool club, or Mandalay Bay location can still book it — just under the new name.

Delano Las Vegas FAQs

Does Delano Las Vegas still exist?

Not under that name. MGM Resorts and Marriott completed a rebrand of the tower to W Las Vegas on December 18, 2024, as part of a broader licensing partnership; the building, suites and pool are unchanged.

Were there resort fees or paid parking at Delano?

Yes — like other MGM Strip properties, Delano charged a nightly resort fee and paid self- and valet parking, policies that carried over to W Las Vegas after the rebrand.

How walkable was Delano to the rest of the Strip?

It sat at the far south end of the Strip on the Mandalay Bay campus, close to Allegiant Stadium but a longer walk from mid-Strip venues like the Sphere or The Colosseum, making rideshare or the Las Vegas Monorail area a factor for guests headed north.
