The Ride Experience
PortAventura’s eight coasters span three decades of design. Dragon Khan, a B&M sit-down looping coaster from 1995, once held the world record for most inversions on a coaster with eight. Shambhala, added in 2012, stands 76 meters tall with a 78-meter first drop and a top speed of about 134 km/h, and carries no inversions — a pure airtime-and-speed hypercoaster instead. Furius Baco, an Intamin Accelerator coaster themed to a runaway wine truck, launches riders to roughly 135 km/h in winged seating, while Stampida is a wooden dueling coaster from 1997 built by Custom Coasters International, and El Diablo — Tren de la Mina is an Arrow Dynamics mine train dating to the park’s opening year.
The newest addition, Uncharted: The Enigma of Penitence, opened in June 2023 as an Intamin-built enclosed launched coaster themed to the Uncharted video game and film franchise, joining smaller family coasters Tami-Tami and Tomahawk to round out the park’s eight-coaster lineup. Beyond coasters, Hurakan Condor is a roughly 330-foot Intamin drop tower, and Tutuki Splash sends boats through a volcano-themed water ride.

PortAventura opened under different ownership groups over the years before InvestIndustrial and KKR took control, expanding the resort with Ferrari Land in 2017 and the Caribe water park.
