Tips for Families Visiting Michigan’s Adventure
Measure your kids at home before the trip, in shoes similar to what they will wear at the park, so you know which tier they fall into. A child who is a half inch short at home will not be a surprise at the ride entrance.
Kids between 36 and 47 inches have the most options on the family coasters. Woodstock Express opens at 36 inches with a companion, Zach’s Zoomer at 40 inches, and Mad Mouse at 42 inches. Each has a higher ride-alone height, so an adult needs to be ready to ride along.
If a child is too short for a coaster, plan another ride for that group. One adult can wait with the child while the rest ride, then switch. Confirm any rider-swap or child-switch arrangement with the ride attendants, as the official pages reviewed here do not describe one.
Tall riders should check maximums too. Thunderhawk has a 78-inch maximum, so it is worth checking before the day if anyone in your group is very tall.
