Ferrari World Abu Dhabi opened on Yas Island on November 4, 2010, as the world’s first Ferrari-branded theme park. The park covers about 86,000 square meters (roughly 926,000 square feet) of floor space, all enclosed beneath a single red roof spanning more than 200,000 square meters (about 2.2 million square feet), making it the largest indoor amusement park on the planet. Operated by Miral under license from Ferrari, the park blends motorsport theming with more than 20 rides and attractions inside a climate-controlled dome designed to evoke the curves of a Ferrari GT body.
The park’s headline act is Formula Rossa, an Intamin hydraulic-launch coaster that rockets riders to 240 km/h (149 mph) in under five seconds. It held the title of the world’s fastest roller coaster from its 2010 debut until Falcon’s Flight at Six Flags Qiddiya took the crown in late 2025. Beyond the coasters, Ferrari World mixes family simulators, karting, and Ferrari-branded dining and retail into a single indoor destination on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island entertainment hub.

The Ride Experience
Formula Rossa anchors the lineup, using a hydraulic launch system generating roughly 20,800 horsepower to accelerate riders from 0 to 240 km/h in about 4.9 seconds along a track stretching over 2,000 meters. Riders wear protective goggles to guard against wind force at speed, a rarity among coasters. The park’s most recent major addition, Mission Ferrari, opened in January 2023 as a Dynamic Attractions SFX coaster with a story-driven, screen-based format quite different from Formula Rossa’s pure speed run.
Alongside the thrill rides, the park offers family-friendly options including simulators, a karting circuit for younger visitors, and drop-tower style attractions, all themed around Ferrari’s racing heritage and road car history.

Ferrari World sits within Yas Island’s broader entertainment district alongside Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, forming one of the region’s largest concentrations of theme parks.
