Ferrari Land opened on April 7, 2017, as the second theme park within the PortAventura World resort in Salou and Vila-seca, near Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. Built in partnership with Ferrari, the park was designed around the racing brand’s identity, blending Italian architecture inspired by Maranello with motorsport-themed rides and attractions.
The park’s undisputed centerpiece is Red Force, a steel launched giga coaster manufactured by Intamin. Standing 112 meters (367 feet) tall, it briefly held the title of world’s tallest operating roller coaster from late 2024 into 2025, after Kingda Ka was permanently closed (November 2024) and demolished (February 2025), and before Cedar Point’s Top Thrill 2 reopened and reclaimed the record. Red Force remains Europe’s tallest and fastest coaster and the continent’s only giga coaster.

The Ride Experience
Red Force dominates the Ferrari Land skyline, launching riders from a standstill to 180 km/h (112 mph) in about five seconds using linear synchronous motor technology. The train then rockets up a 112-meter vertical spike before a near-vertical drop back down, delivering a burst of intense speed rather than inversions — the ride has none, relying instead on raw acceleration and height for its thrill.
Beyond Red Force, Ferrari Land offers a mix of family and thrill attractions themed around Formula 1 racing and Ferrari’s road cars, including flat rides, a flying theater, and driving-simulator experiences aimed at fans of the marque as much as coaster enthusiasts.
A Themed Park Within a Resort
Ferrari Land was constructed on part of the site of PortAventura’s former Costa Caribe water park and is fully integrated into the larger PortAventura World resort, which also includes PortAventura Park and Caribe Aquatic Park. The Italian-inspired architecture, including a scaled recreation of the Maranello control tower, sets it apart visually from its sister parks.
