The question every parent has before Epcot is what a toddler or preschooler can actually ride. Epcot is a park for grown-ups and older kids first and has no big kids’ land, but Disney lists two hands-on play spaces for little ones, the Mission: SPACE Advanced Training Lab and ImageWorks, and several of its gentlest rides have no height minimum at all.
This guide is organised by what your child can do: play spaces and rides with no height minimum first, then what opens up at 36 in (91 cm), 40 in (102 cm) and 42 in (107 cm). It covers only attractions whose current details I read on Walt Disney World’s official website, so it is not a full inventory of the park. Check the official Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app for the definitive current list before you go.

Stats at a Glance
- Kids’ Area: No dedicated kids’ land, but two play spaces: Mission: SPACE Advanced Training Lab (interactive playground) and ImageWorks
- First Roller Coaster At: 42 in (107 cm) — Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Companion Rule: Disney: children under age 7 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older when entering an attraction
- Rider Swap: Yes — Rider Switch
Rides With No Height Minimum
Each of these is listed as “Any Height” on its official Walt Disney World page. Most appealing for small kids first:
Mission: SPACE Advanced Training Lab (play space, in World Discovery): Disney describes it as a “high-tech play area featuring space-themed games and activities for all ages,” with an interactive crawl-through area for younger explorers. It is a play area rather than a ride, and it is a good place to let toddlers burn off energy.
ImageWorks (play space, in World Celebration): a creative play space at the exit of Journey Into Imagination With Figment where “little ones can explore their senses.” Kids can conduct music with their arm movements, jump on the Stepping Tones squares to make sounds, and design their own dragon.
Frozen Ever After: “Voyage to Arendelle aboard an ancient Nordic vessel as you take a musical tour of the wintery world of Frozen.” A boat ride with the film’s characters and songs.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure: a Disney and Pixar ride where you feel “like you’ve shrunk down to Chef Remy’s size” for a culinary adventure based on Ratatouille.
The Seas with Nemo & Friends: guests board a “clamobile” and descend slowly below the waves, past coral reefs and anemones. It is a gentle, slow ride and a good pick for nervous toddlers.
Journey Into Imagination With Figment: a ride through the sensory labs of Imagination Institute, with Figment the playful dragon as your guide.
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros: a gentle boat ride through the Mexico Pavilion, with the antics of three feathered amigos.
Living with the Land: a gentle boat tour past greenhouses, with the history of farming along the way. It is calm, but it is more for parents than toddlers.
Spaceship Earth: a trip through the history of human communication, from the Stone Age to the computer age. It is a longer, slower ride that suits kids old enough to sit through the story.
What Opens Up at 36, 40 and 42 Inches
36 in (91 cm): I did not find a ride pinned to this height on the official pages I read, so a child at this height is still riding the no-minimum list above.
40 in (102 cm) and up: Soarin’ Across America is a simulated flight across the United States under a 180-degree IMAX projection dome, with scent effects and motion. Disney’s page lists it at 40 in (102 cm) or taller and presents it as a limited-time journey tied to the nation’s 250th birthday, so check that it is still running for your dates. Test Track, a high-speed race through showcases of transportation technology, is listed at 40 in (102 cm) or taller. Mission: SPACE is listed at 40 in (102 cm) or taller for its Green Mission, which Disney describes as a gentler adventure using a motion simulator with light movement that doesn’t spin. The Orange Mission needs 44 in (112 cm) and uses a centrifuge that spins and tilts.
42 in (107 cm) and up: this is the tier that unlocks Epcot’s first real roller coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which Disney calls a “family thrill coaster.” Disney’s announcement does not state the height; third-party reports give it as 42 in (107 cm), so check the ride page on the day. Expect it to be a big step up in intensity from the boat rides.

Practical Tips for a Day With Small Kids
Measure your child at home before you go, and expect to be measured again at the ride. Height cards can differ from what you assume, especially for a child near a cutoff. Shoes count too, so measure the way they will be standing at the ride.
Epcot has no dedicated kids’ land, but its two play spaces are worth building the day around: the Mission: SPACE Advanced Training Lab in World Discovery and ImageWorks in World Celebration. Both are listed as any height. Even so, I would call Epcot thin for toddlers and preschoolers when it comes to rides, and small kids will run out of options faster here than at parks built around a kids’ land. The park is spread out, so bring a stroller for the walking between pavilions.
Rider Switch: Disney describes it as a feature that “allows adult Guests to take turns waiting with youngsters or Guests unable to ride.” One party waits outside the queue while the rest of the party waits in the queue. Ask a Cast Member at the ride entrance how it works for that attraction.
Disney’s supervision wording, as I found it: children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a Guest age of 14 or older when entering an attraction. That is a supervision rule. It does not let a child ride below a ride’s height minimum.
