54 in (137 cm) minimum: Talon and Hydra. The park’s pages list a 54-inch minimum for each and show no companion option or maximum height.
52 in (132 cm) minimum, 78 in (198 cm) maximum: Possessed. The maximum height is 78 inches, so very tall riders may not fit.
48 in (122 cm) minimum: Iron Menace, Steel Force, Thunderhawk and Wild Mouse. Iron Menace, the dive coaster, also has a maximum of 78 in (198 cm). Steel Force and Thunderhawk list a 48-inch minimum with no companion option or maximum on the pages we read.
Wild Mouse: 48 in (122 cm) to ride alone, or 42 in (107 cm) with a companion. The page also lists a maximum of 75 in (191 cm), and a maximum of 48 in (122 cm) for riders using the companion option, so riders taller than 48 inches ride on the solo rules.
Woodstock Express: the family coaster in Planet Snoopy lists a minimum height accompanied of 42 in (107 cm). No solo minimum or maximum is shown on the page we read, so check the sign at the ride for the rule for riding alone.
Dorney Park does not state a park-wide companion rule on the pages we read. The rules are set ride by ride, and only Woodstock Express and Wild Mouse list a companion option.
Tips for Families Visiting Dorney Park
Measure your kids at home before the trip, in shoes and standing straight against a wall, and compare them to the numbers above. Kids who are close to a cutoff can be measured again on the day, so it helps to know which coasters are realistic targets.
A child at 42 inches can ride Woodstock Express and, with a companion, Wild Mouse. At 48 inches they can also ride Wild Mouse alone, and Steel Force, Thunderhawk and Iron Menace. At 52 inches Possessed opens up, and at 54 inches Talon and Hydra.
If a child is too short for a coaster, plan a rider swap so each adult can still ride. Then work back through the coasters they can ride. Because minimums can change, check each ride’s official page before you go.
