Energizer Park is the soccer-specific stadium in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, that serves as home to Major League Soccer club St. Louis City SC. The venue opened on November 16, 2022, under its original name, CityPark, after Centene Corporation’s initial naming-rights deal fell through just before completion. In October 2024, St. Louis-based battery manufacturer Energizer signed a naming-rights agreement, and the stadium took on its current name starting in 2025.
Built on a roughly 30-acre site within the historic Mill Creek Valley neighborhood, the stadium was designed by HOK with Snow Kreiwich Architects and cost about $457.8 million to construct. Its playing surface sits around 40 feet below street level, a design choice that keeps every seat within about 120 feet of the pitch, among the closest sightlines of any MLS stadium.

The Game-Day Experience
The sunken-pitch design of Energizer Park creates an intimate, amphitheater-like atmosphere that MLS broadcasters and fans have singled out as one of the league’s best. A standing-supporters section holds more than 3,000 fans, and the stadium features an integrated tifo rigging system more than 250 feet long for large-scale fan displays before matches.
The grounds also include the ‘Pillars of the Valley’ monument by artist Damon Davis, which honors the predominantly Black Mill Creek Valley neighborhood that was displaced from the site decades before the stadium was built.
From CityPark to Energizer Park
The venue’s naming history has been unusually eventful for a stadium this new. Centene Corporation agreed to a 15-year naming-rights deal in February 2022, but rescinded it shortly before the stadium opened, leading to the placeholder name CityPark for the first two-plus seasons. Energizer’s October 2024 naming-rights agreement gave the stadium its permanent identity starting in 2025.
Energizer Park’s profile is set to rise further on the international stage: the stadium is slated to host soccer matches during the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, which would mark the first Olympic competition held in St. Louis since the city hosted the 1904 Summer Olympics.
