Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces Thrill Glider Coaster
Six Flags Magic Mountain revealed Thrill Glider on September 10, a new Vekoma coaster that combines flying, motorbike, and suspended-coaster technology, according to Attractions Magazine. Riders sit in individual seats that rotate into a face-forward, prone position beneath the track for a roughly 80-second ride featuring five inversions, multiple launches, and 12 airtime moments across 3,380 feet of track. The layout stands 107 feet tall with a top speed of 50 mph and is scheduled to open in 2027.
Multibillion-Dollar Entertainment Complex Proposed West of Phoenix
Real estate investor Anita Verma-Lallian has unveiled plans for a massive development in Tonopah, Arizona, about an hour west of Phoenix, that would include an amusement park, an indoor theme park, a movie studio, hotels, retail, housing, and a data center campus, ABC15 reports. Verma-Lallian, CEO of Arizona Land Consulting, estimates the full build-out at between $6 billion and $10 billion, funded through a mix of equity and debt. The project is still in the planning stage, with renderings produced by design firm Gensler.
Disney Vacation Club Refreshes Its Website
The Disney Vacation Club website has a new look, with a simplified top menu now showing Discover Membership, Destinations, Member Benefits, Plan Vacation, and Help & Contact, according to WDWNT. The redesign also swaps the search bar for a smaller icon and drops the Mickey Mouse globe from the DVC logo. The changes mirror an update made to the main Walt Disney World website last month, though the underlying page content is largely unchanged.

Hotel Development Proposed Next to Dublin’s Aviva Stadium
The Irish Rugby Football Union is seeking a development partner to design, build, finance, and operate a hotel and residential project called Lansdowne Quarter on land next to Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, according to Sports Venue Business. The plan calls for a 257-key hotel and a 77-unit residential building under a long-term ground lease, with the IRFU retaining ownership of the land. IRFU chief executive Kevin Potts said the process “allows the IRFU to unlock the long-term potential of a strategically important site, while also retaining ownership of the land.” The project doesn’t yet have planning permission. Carín León Postpones Las Vegas Sphere Show Over Plane Trouble
Carín León postponed the fourth date of his Sphere residency in Las Vegas on Thursday night after aircraft trouble kept him from making it to the venue, according to Pollstar. León said his original plane suffered brake failure, and a replacement aircraft then had a steering system failure, forcing officials to ground the flight for safety. Fans learned the show was cancelled about an hour after its scheduled start; tickets will be honored for a future date or can be refunded by October 10. León said, “We had to prioritize the safety of the people and the pilots, so we weren’t allowed to fly.”
U2 Named 2027 MusiCares Persons of the Year
MusiCares has named U2 — Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. — its 2027 Persons of the Year, according to Pollstar. The band will be honored February 5, 2027 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, two days ahead of the Grammy Awards, for decades of humanitarian work alongside their music career. A tribute concert is planned as part of the gala.

Angus & Julia Stone’s new album, Karaoke Bar, debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, according to Billboard. Released September 4 via Virgin Music, it’s the sibling duo’s third album to top the Australian chart, following Down the Way in 2010 and their self-titled album in 2014.
