Ducks Arena FAQ
Have the Ducks always played at Honda Center?
Yes. The arena opened on June 17, 1993, and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim played their first NHL game there on October 8, 1993, a 7–2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. It has been their only home.
Why was it called the Pond?
Before naming rights were sold, Disney referred to the new building as the Pond of Anaheim. Arrowhead Water then bought the name in October 1993, making it the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim until Honda took over the naming rights in October 2006. For hockey it is still billed as The Pond at Honda Center.
Did the Ducks win the Stanley Cup at Honda Center?
Yes. On June 6, 2007, the Ducks beat the Ottawa Senators 6–2 in Game 5 of the Final at Honda Center to win the franchise’s first Stanley Cup, and the Cup was presented on home ice. The arena also hosted Final games in 2003.
Is Honda Center being renovated?
Yes. In April 2025 a $1 billion renovation was announced, due to be finished by 2027, a year before the 2028 Summer Olympics. It adds a new south entrance, escalators, club suites and parking as part of the OC Vibe development around the arena.

At Honda Center in Anaheim, California, where they have played since 1993. It seats 17,174 for hockey.
