The Blues have had two homes since the 1967 expansion: the St. Louis Arena, an old 1929 building their owners had to buy to get the team, and since 1995 the downtown arena now called Enterprise Center.
Here is each home in order, with the years the Blues played there, what made each one matter and what stands on the site today. Each one links to our full guide.

Blues Arena FAQ
Where did the Blues play before Enterprise Center?
At the St. Louis Arena, from their first season in 1967 until April 1994. The building was known as the Checkerdome from 1977 to 1983, when Ralston Purina owned the team.
How many arenas have the Blues had?
Two: the St. Louis Arena (1967–1994) and Enterprise Center (1995–present). Enterprise Center has also been called the Kiel Center, Savvis Center and Scottrade Center, but it is the same building.
Why did the Blues move?
The Kiel Center was built downtown in 1994 to replace Kiel Auditorium, and the Blues moved in that year. The 1994–95 lockout meant their first game there wasn’t played until January 1995. The St. Louis Arena hosted its last Blues game on April 24, 1994.
Is the St. Louis Arena still standing?
No. It sat empty for several years and was demolished in February 1999. A business and residential development called The Highlands, including a Hampton Inn, now covers the site across I-64 from Forest Park.
Where do the Blues play now?
At Enterprise Center in downtown St. Louis, which seats 18,096 for hockey. It was the Blues’ home in 2019, when they won their first Stanley Cup.
