Loud and Cavernous

The Kingdome’s hard concrete dome trapped and amplified noise, giving Seattle teams a deafening home-field edge. It was a workhorse multipurpose venue that also hosted concerts, conventions, and even an NBA team for a season.

A Famous Implosion

Replaced by dedicated stadiums for the Mariners and Seahawks, the Kingdome was imploded in March 2000 – a spectacle broadcast widely and remembered as the end of Seattle’s domed era.
