X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain is unlike any other coaster – a 4th-dimension ride whose seats spin independently of the track, so you never know which way you’ll be facing.
Originally opened as ‘X’ in 2002 and relaunched as X2 in 2008, it remains the prototype for the wing-seat, rotating-seat experience.

The Ride Experience
X2 sends riders over the edge of an 88-degree drop facing straight down, then flips the seats forward and backward through raven turns and fire effects. Because the seats rotate on their own axis, the layout feels completely disorienting in the best way.
Why X2 Was Revolutionary
As the world’s first 4th-dimension coaster, X pioneered controlled seat rotation. The 2008 relaunch as X2 added new trains, theming, and effects, cementing its status as one of the most original thrill machines ever built.
